コマンドラインからエミュレーターを起動して、次の引数を使用して少し速度を上げようとしています。

Android SDK Tools 21.1 rc(プレビューチャネル内)をインストールした後、ホストGPUが有効になっているエミュレーターが正常に動作するようになりました(高速で逆さまになることはありません)。

Android SDK Managerを起動し、設定ダイアログでプレビューチャネルを有効にするだけです。

これは、ハードウェア GPU エミュレーションのバグのようです。(hw.gpu.enabled' VALUE='yes'ログに記録されています。これは、この機能が有効になっていることを意味します。)

AVD 設定で「GPU エミュレーション」を無効にすると、正常に動作するはずです。
