cancanでload_and_authorize_resourceを使用している場合、アクションが、、、または（私が思うに）の場合にのみ、userのインスタンスをauthorizeメソッドにupdate渡します。アクションが実行されると、代わりにUserクラスが渡されます。showeditdestroyindex

だからあなたの期待はshould_authorize失敗します
