.eggEgg ファイルは、拡張子付きの Python パッケージ、モジュール、および小さなメタデータを含む単純な zip 圧縮ディレクトリです。

zip 形式は柔軟です。zipfile の一部ではないファイルの先頭にあるものはすべて無視されます。PKzipfile は、一連の文字 (およびタイプを示すさらに 2 バイト) を検索し、そこから読み取ることによって検出されます。
