何か案は？別のサイトで推奨されていたので、TIME_UTC を TIME_UTC_ に変更してみましたが、効果がないようでした。

/usr/include/boost/thread/xtime.hpp (または xtime.hpp がある場所) を編集して、TIME_UTC のすべての出現箇所をTIME_UTC_に変更できます- おそらく 23 行目と 71 行目あたりです。

Boost の使用時に構文エラーが発生する場合は、コードを でコンパイルする必要がある場合があります-std=c++11。

コードを表示しないため、推測することしかできません。私の推測ではTIME_UTC、コードのどこかにマクロを定義していると思います。xtime.hppこのマクロはヘッダーを台無しにします。
