問題を示すためにこのjsFiddleを作成しましたが、IE8 でjsFiddleを開くことさえできません。

abc123 と同様の状況で経験したように、IE8 では、使用する HTML5 要素にテキスト要素をバインドすることはできません。多くの要素について、「テキスト」にバインドされないため、html5 タグを古き良き div/span タグに置き換える必要がありました。
