32ビットでコンパイルされたPerl5.8.4を備えたx86_64アーキテクチャのマシンで実行しています。XML :: LibXMLをインストールしようとすると、次のデバッグメッセージが表示されます。

If you install via RPMs, make sure you also install the -devel
RPMs, as this is where the headers (.h files) are.

Also, you may try to run perl Makefile.PL with the DEBUG=1 parameter
to see the exact reason why the detection of libxml2 installation
failed or why Makefile.PL was not able to compile a test program.

  1. 特に、libxml2-develおよびzlib-develパッケージがシステムにインストールされているかどうかを次のように確認します。

    $ rpm -ql libxml2-devel

    $ rpm -ql zlib-devel

  2. それらのいずれかがインストールされていない場合は、次のように不足しているパッケージをインストールします。

    $ yum install libxml2-devel

    $ yum install zlib-devel

  3. 次のように、CPANを使用してXML ::LibXMLpacakを再インストールします。

    $ cpan

    cpan> install XML :: LibXML
