私はPythonが初めてで、分析のためにテキストファイルから「つぶやき」を解析しようとしています。

次のように、ループの代わりに組み込みのJSON ライブラリを使用して、すべての行を JSON として読み取り、解析してみませんか。

ファイルに複数のツイートを書き込んだ場合。例えば：

 o.write(tweet1)
 o.write(tweet2)

json は行ごとに書き込まれた複数のオブジェクトのファイルをデコードできないため、それらも行ごとに読み取る必要があります。

tweets = []
for line in open('test.txt', 'r'):
    tweets.append(json.loads(line))
